Anamaria Marinca bio

Anamaria is an Romanian actor. Her debut on screen was Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film in which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award as Best Actress. French, German English and Romanian are fluent languages. Her father is a theater instructor at one of Romania's top acting schools. She was awarded the Best Female Actor Award for the Year 2000 at the Gala for Young Actors in Mangalia. She was chosen as the first European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in 2008. She was a teacher in the University of Fine Arts Music and Drama George Enescu for four years. bAnamaria Marineca is a Romanian film actress who was born on the 1st of April, 1978 in Iasi Romania. As an actress with Romanian origin, Anamaria Marinca made her debut on the screen through the Canadian-British TV drama Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. The role she played in the Romanian art film 4 months 3 Weeks, and 2 Days is remembered as well. It was a huge success and won numerous awards such as the European Film Award Best Actress to London Film Critics. She starred as a Romanian actor in Cristian Mungiu's film 4 months 3 weeks and saptamani si 2 zile (four months three weeks and two three weeks and two days) which was awarded with the Palme d'Or and other prizes at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Also, she was as a character in The Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she played Yasim anwar, a character from the BBC Five-episode miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca has appeared in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. She appeared as Irma in Fury 2014 in which she played a German named aunt to Emma.
